FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why don't all of your products have pricing listed?

Many of our Gourmet Travel Club offerings are not date specific and therefore publishing the price is difficult.   Our hotel partners and other vendors have seasonal pricing which varies with their supply and demand.   In order to give you the best, most up-to-date price for your requested program, we need to have the expected dates of travel and the number of participants.   For a quick reference on STYLE and PRICE, we have noted the quality level under TRAVEL STYLE.

LUXURY - This classification is the "best of the best" with the highest level of comfort and service.

DELUXE - This classification is "high-end" with a great level of comfort and service.

FIRST CLASS - This classification is a good value with a dependable level of comfort and service.

MODERATE - This classification is value oriented with varying levels of comfort and service.

What are your planning fees?

Our Gourmet Travel Club portfolio is richly diverse.   You will discover opportunities to book hotels only, 2 or 3 night packages or comprehensive world tours.   Our goal is to help you create the best experience for your unique circumstances.  As a result, our fees will vary according to the scope of the work and the programs selected.  In many cases, we are compensated fairly by the tour operators and cruise lines that we book for you and so our fees are nominal. When fees apply, your Vacation Planner will advise you accordingly.   There is no fee for the initial consultation.  Let's talk or e-chat!

What are the payment requirements for Gourmet Travel Programs?

Gourmet Travel Club acts as agents for our various partner tour, cruise and hotel vendors.   Payment procedures vary according to the policies of the operators involved.  In most cases you will be asked for a deposit of about 20% of the program price with final payment due about 90 days prior to departure.

What if I cancel?

Gourmet Travel Club highly recommends that you purchase cancellation insurance to protect yourself from unforeseen circumstances that may result in a cancellation.   Penalties vary and will be advised by your Gourmet Travel Club Vacation Planner at time of booking.  Ask your Planner for more details.

What does it cost to be a member of Gourmet Travel Club?

Membership is free.  All we ask is that you participate in the club by booking your culinary travel with us and by sharing your travel interests with us and other club members.   By supporting and booking your travel with Gourmet Travel Club you will help the club grow which allows us to enhance our programs and bring you even more meaningful, enriching experiences.

Will you take care of my airline arrangements?

Gourmet Travel Club will assist members with their air arrangements in conjunction with booking one of our programs.  We do not make airline bookings only.   Reservation fees will apply depending upon the airline and the work involved.  We recommend that our members redeem their airline mileage tickets directly with their airline program.

Can I request an appointment to speak with a specific Vacation Planner?

Yes.  When planning a detailed itinerary, we find it best to have each others undivided attention.   If you are near Thousand Oaks, California, we always enjoy having a face to face appointment so that we can get to know you and your travel tastes.   For most of our clients we will arrange a telephone or email appointment.

Do you arrange group travel?

Yes indeed.   We love groups.  Most of our groups are small and intimate.  If you have a small group that you would like us to arrange a special trip for, please contact us to speak with a Vacation Planner.

What are your hours of business?

Gourmet Travel Group is open for business Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm Pacific Standard Time.  We may be available during other hours by appointment only.  Our emails are monitored regularly and are an excellent way to keep in touch with us after hours.
