Singita Grumeti Reserves
Hotel Overview
Travel style: Luxury
Singita Grumeti Reserves is located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, bordering the national park, and encompasses 340,000 acres of unrivalled wilderness. The area forms part of the famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds of thousands of animals every year.
Sasakwa Lodge, the flagship in the exclusive trio of luxury leisure properties of Singita Grumeti Reserves. Perched on a hilltop with awe-inspiring views of the Serengeti plains, the lodge is built in the style of an 1900’s East African ranch house with dramatic chandeliers, leather and sparkling crystal adding plush opulence to ten deluxe cottages.
An exceptional sense of place meets a blissful African feel, tweaked with a fine streak of eccentricity in the lavish air-conditioned suites, ranging in size from one to four bedrooms, each with its own unique charm and complete privacy. Guests can indulge in the relaxed romance of a fireplace, a heated infinity pool touching the wheat coloured savanna and stargazing through a Swarovski telescope from a private veranda.
Whilst Sasakwa is essentially luxurious, Sabora Tented Camp offers elegant simplicity and laid-back romance. Situated on the flatness of the Serengeti plains the camp has been designed around a 1920’s style. Beautifully decorated with European finery and ethnic artifacts, nine lavish tents evoke a sense of adventure where soft canvas separates you from the wild while cocooned in the most luxurious creature comforts.
Overlooking a watering hole and the Grumeti River, intimate Faru Faru Lodge has been built in the style of a classic East African safari camp. The local influence is ever present, inspired by rock formations said to have been left behind by ancient people. The elevated viewing decks over the watering hole mean that viewing game without even leaving your lodge is an option, and a Swahili-inspired ‘beach’ offers the opportunity for some serious rest and relaxation.
With a mild, temperate climate, quintessential savannah scenery and only three lodges on an area almost the size of the Mara National Park, Singita Grumeti Reserves is an absolutely unique and exclusive destination.
